Model of the old Hemel
A whimsical sculpture stands in the Marlowes shopping precinct. It is a fanciful model of Hemel Hempstead c 1930s before it was expanded into a new town after World War Two.

'Bronze Relief Map of the Town', Marlowes
This sculpted map depicted Hemel Hempstead as it appeared in the 1940s. It was installed in the town centre in 1992, was designed by Graham Thompson and was sculpted by John Ravera. Since 2015, it has disappeared from the town centre, with it reportedly being in storage.
