Christ Church, Flackwell Heath
Christ Church, the Parish Church of Flackwell Heath, was built in 1932 and extended in 1959, to serve the growing "village" which now has a population of 9000. The new extension, seen to the left, was completed in 2001.

The parade of shops in this expanding village. There are most things you need, a small supermarket, a chemist, a newsagent, a couple of Indian restaurants, a couple of cash machines.

The Green Man (deceased)
This pub has had a few changes of hands apparently, but looks not to have survived the recession this time. There is a proposal to put a Tesco Metro here, with local opposition who want to keep Budgens nearby. Maybe Dutchy will have a say in the matter.

Straight Bit, Flackwell Heath
Oddly none of the road is straight at all so I don't know how it got its name. Long straight main roads in Britain are so rare some are called something similar but clearly not the reason for this one.

Old Hatfield milestone, was on A404, in parish of Chepping Wycombe (Wycombe District), was on Amersham Road, High Wycombe, now The Common, by Ingledell, Flackwell Heath.
