Hannah's House Tea Rooms a 17th century Grade II Listed house claims to be from about 1622. The building is thought to have been a blacksmiths premises and stables associated with the Market Place Inn next door. In 2011 the local council offered a small grant as an incentive for the owners to undertake repairs. The early 20th-century cement render was stripped off to reveal the timber frame beneath prompting a dispute about the form of restoration. The council supported the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings view that the historic timbers would remain largely untouched by rendering and painting.
