Eighteenth century stable block with accommodation in a classical style at Norton Conyers. Like the main house, this block is covered in an unpleasant rendering.

Water Filter
At Norton Conyers this Victorian stoneware water filter has now been put to another use. The upper inscription states " By Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent". The lower inscription states "G. Cheavins. Improved patent gold medal self cleaning rapid water filter. Boston England".

Norton Conyers House
What a strange house this is. The 'Dutch' gables suggest the 17th century, and it would appear that much of the house dates from this time. However, the SW front has 'bay' windows which look much later. The house has an unpleasant rendered finish, which in places has flaked off to reveal hand made brick beneath. How much nicer the house would look if the render was removed.
