Low Bramley Grange
A very 'upmarket' property in the countryside to the west of Grewelthorpe. Somewhere in this locality was a grange of Fountains Abbey, which in the 14th century was already beginning to specialise in dairy farming. Fountains had a well organised system of granges employing lay persons, with arable farming in the vale, dairying and stock rearing close to the abbey with cattle and sheep farms further west in the dales.

Unmade lane at Bramley Grange
One of several unmade lanes to the west of Grewelthorpe and Kirkby Malzeard. Most likely a medieval track associated with Fountains Abbey.
