Saint Mary The Virgin
This simple chapel, first mentioned in 1320, probably dates back to Edward I. Material from the chapel was used in the construction of a new church, Saint Cuthbert's which was built in 1827. The tower dates from 1691 when Thomas Furnis was curate and his initials can be seen above the doorway.
