Junction at Summerbridge
The meeting of main roads at the top of the hill in the centre of the village, with the B6451 from the river bridge meeting the B6165 at a crossroads. Hartwith Bank, the lane ahead, climbs steeply out of the village towards Brimham Rocks. On the right is The Flying Dutchman - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=31740942 . There seem to be different opinions about whether the pub is named after the 1849 Derby winner or the ghostly ship after which the racehorse was named, and the pub sign itself has changed between the two over the years. Currently, as in Image, going with the ship.
