The Adelphi, Cold Bath Road
Formerly the Adelphi Hotel, the building was torn down in the 1980's and an apartment block erected in its place. However, part of the original frontage was incorporated into the rebuilding.
Another contributor (MalvernTrev) has provided this first-hand recollection of the hotel:
"When I worked in Harrogate between 1977 and 1983, I spent many nights in the Adelphi Hotel. It was really seedy, but with a good bar, music and an excellent pool table. A place for the locals, with the odd guest here and there. I used to work very strange hours and the Adelphi was one place you could go for a very late drink when everywhere else was closed or needed some sort of 'entry fee'. I guess things move on, but at least they've kept the character of the frontage."
