Agatha Christie's Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate
This hotel, then known as the Swan Hydro, was the scene of Agatha Christie's strange and mysterious disappearance in December 1926. On December 14 1926 she was found, safe and well, living the high-life in this hotel. It seems she'd travelled to London and boarded a train to the spa town after having seen an advertisement at the railway station. Agatha Christie never spoke about those missing 11 days of her life, and over the years there has been much speculation about what happened.
