This is looking north along Ripon Road, and stood at the junction with Coppice Drive. On the top stone at this road junction there is a clear benchmark with a well defined rivet at the top of the arrowheads.

Houses on Springfield Avenue
Development on Springfield Avenue began at about the same time as the building of the nearby Majestic Hotel [1900]. The houses mark a change in style from Victorian stone to a vaguely half timbered effect.
