These houses were built for the better-off workers of New Mill in the late 19C. They are at the junction with Fulstone Hall Lane, just below the church.

Cottages, Sude Hill, New Mill, Fulstone township
Some of the first-floor window ledges are carried across the building as a string course. One pair of cottages takes advantage of the slope to add an extra storey even though the roof is level with that of the next house.

Christ Church, New Mill, Fulstone township
Built in 1829-30 and altered in 1882. The date of foundation shows that New Mill developed quite early in the 19C. The parish was created in 1834 from Kirkburton.
