Boiler on the site of Smithy Place Mills, Brockholes
The mills had largely been demolished but this packaged boiler was lying loose by the side of the River Holme. This site has now been taken over by housing. The houses in the background have the appearance of former weavers' cottages.

Boiler on the site of Smithy Place Mills, Brockholes
Seen from Smithy Place Lane. The boiler is just in front of the River Holme with the A616 beyond that. It is a gas fired, single furnace, three pass packaged boiler. It may well have found a further lease of life. The mills had by now been largely demolished. The site is now given over to housing.
