Denby Dale Railway Station
Denby Dale is famous for its enormous pies and if you have come by train to sample one, here is where you get out. The line is heading for a high viaduct from where there is an excellent view of this little town.

Subway, Denby Dale railway station
The station originally had two tracks with a platform each side, but now only has a single track and a platform on the east side. Pedestrian access from the town centre is through this subway from the west side.

The 10.24 to Huddersfield is departing. The line is now single track and the second track has been removed, along with the old northbound platform. The station is not quite as impressive as the viaduct to the south! Image

Denby Dale railway station, Yorkshire
Opened in 1850 by the Huddersfield & Sheffield Junction Railway which became part of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's empire. View north towards Shepley and Huddersfield. There used to be a separate northbound platform to the left.
