The Library, Marsh Lane, Shepley
The building on the right has a round plaque in the gable, but the inscription is no longer legible. Perhaps it was a reading room, a predecessor to the public library.

Former baker's shop, Abbey Road, Shepley
In small letters at the bottom of the sign is 'Licensed to sell tobacco etc.'. On the whitewashed window is written 'HELP!' and, as from inside, 'BETH'. I hope this was a joke!

Post Office and Co-op, Station Road, Shepley
The post office is one of two shops made by extending the ground floor of houses outwards to back of pavement. The Co-op looks as if it has been extended to the left at some stage.

At the junction of Station Road and Abbey Road. I suspet that it was built as a bank. I like the neo-Jacobean architecture; the date is 1883.
