Snow warning and turning bay, Manchester Road, Lingards
This seems a long way up the valley. If the light flashes drivers are instructed to turn round and would then have to return to Huddersfield to try another route, such as the M62.

Skew Bridge, Huddersfield Narrow Canal
The arched stone bridge takes the footpath over the canal to Shaw Carr Wood ( pronounced locally as 'Shaker'). The towpath leads towards Slaithwaite.
