Whilst many of the roads of Golcar slant across the hillside, this one goes straight down it. Brook Lane is at the bottom, and Victoria Mills on the right.

Bank End Road and Copley Bank Road, Golcar
Here Bank End Road changes from wide tarmac to narrow crushed stone, and Copley Bank Road goes off to the right at an easier gradient. However on the 1850 map the latter is the narrower of the two.
