Houses above a retaining wall, Slade Lane. Rastrick
Presumably the road was widened when the housing estate was built. There is an arched entrance between the parked cars, leading to steps up to the houses.

Houses above Slade Lane, Rastrick
These houses face Slade Lane but are separated from it by a retaining wall; they are part of the Fletcher Crescent estate.

Stone sheds, Slade Lane, Rastrick
Two buildings butting up to each other, built of poor quality stone but probably well over a century old. It would be interesting to know the original (and present) purpose for these buildings - The lack of windows suggests that they might be just for storage.

Slade Lane Mill, Rastrick
This looks as if it has lost its roof, and perhaps an upper storey, in a fire at some time. There was a building here, although not next to the road, on the township map of 1824, but the present building looks to be of the late 19C.

Stiles, Rastrick
A public footpath is not shown on the map on this line. Perhaps it is a permissive path to Round Hill (the top of which can be seen to the left of the score-box of the cricket ground).

Site clearance, Slade Lane, Rastrick
This is the site of Slade Lane Mill, a former woollen, then silk, mill that became the premises of Park Welding. There has been a lot of digging, perhaps to remove all the old foundations in preparation for the new buildings. The planning application was for ten houses in three blocks.
