Clifton Road, Brighouse, railway station (site), Yorkshire
Opened in 1881 by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway on the line from Brighouse to Bradford, this station closed to passengers in 1931 and was demolished three years later.
View south east up the former approach road, with the platforms having been on the embankment. To the right, the line ran onto a viaduct, long-since demolished.

Alegar Street, Clifton
This short street connects the A643 from Leeds with the A644 from Dewsbury; it was originally a narrow cartway called Foddle lane. The present name is taken from a nearby well. Through traffic is banned to avoid motorists switching roads to try to jump the queue.
