This was the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel of 1880 the second of the chapels the first of 1814 no longer there was a little lower down and was a Primitive Methodist

Houses Hill
As can be seen from the map this small hamlet is just a stones throw from the mill there was also another mill at Gawthorpe Green as well about half a mile away which has long gone and a dyeworks and as with the farms you would have thought the hamlet would be a lot larger although the millworkers would probably come from Kirkheaton or Lepton

Bottom of the hill the cottage looks quite a big one possibly contained handlooms originally, the righthand side by the houses is known as Everlasting Spring.
