Lud Hill Lane at the junction with a permissive alternative, Honley
There is a Farnley Estate pointing left here, and this permissive path appears to be used much more than the old lane going straight on through tall grass. If you can brave the nettles, the path soon bends to the left and descends steeplyin a holloway in which it is mostly clear of vegetation, apart from the usual bramble stems.

Lud Hill Lane, Honley
The lane, now only a path, is in a holloway up from Hall Ing Lane. It is shaded by trees, so that the path is clear other than the bramble stems that grow across. Here the path is emerging from the holloway, and after it bends to the right it is a narrow canyon between long grass and nettles.
