The road is Vicarage Road, becoming Thornhill Road as it crosses the valley. Longwood Tower can be seen on the hill. Taken from Cliffe End Road.

Thornhill Road, Longwood
This is below the tower at Nab End, and dipping down into Quarmby Clough. Unlike the Longwood Valley, Quarmby Clough has largely escaped development, although Quarmby Clough Mills (now demolished) were just above the road as it crossed the valley.

View from Nab End, Longwood
This is the view over Milnsbridge. Back Thornhill Road is down below, then an undeveloped area with trees. The new housing estate has replaced mill buildings, then the railway viaduct crosses the valley. The district of Crosland Moor is in the distance.

Vicarage Road, Longwood
The vicarage (or former vicarage) is the house on the right amongst trees. The hillside above the road is in Lindley cum Quarmby, which entered Huddersfield Borough in 1868, whereas Longwood held out until 1890. Both were civil parishes until 1924.
