Waverley Abbey House: late April 2022
Once derelict, it was renovated to be the hub for Crusade for World Revival, led by Selwyn Hughes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selwyn_Hughes. Sadly Hughes died in 2006. Departing this month were: April 4th 2022 East Ender’s Dot Cotton, actress June Brown; 6th April David McKee the creator of Mr Benn, Not Now, Bernard and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant; 9th, The Eagle has landed author Jack Higgins; 15th Henry Plumb, former head of the National Farmers Union; and 23rd Orrin Hatch, longest serving Republican senator (1977-2019).

Waverley Abbey House
Beautiful Georgian mansion on the banks of the Wey opposite Waverley Abbey. The house dates back to 1723 when the then Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir John Aislabie, had this house built - using stonework from the ruined abbey. The house is now a conference centre.
