Open Studio at Myrtle Cottage, Thursley Road
The notice publicised a Christmas Open Studio by artists Joan Wigley and Janine Rees at Myrtle Cottage. "Woven scarves, wraps & textiles, beaded & felt jewellery, felted & knit scarves, bags, slippers & textiles". Open Studios (http://www.surreyopenstudios.org.uk/ ) was an initiative of Surrey County Council although I'm not sure that this particular opening was part of that initiative which seems to happen in the summer. The plaque dates Myrtle Cottage to 1868 but the appearance of the walls is more modern.

The pavilion was opened in July 2006 after a long fund raising effort by Elstead villagers, see http://www.elstead.org.uk/articles/pavilion.htm . There had been very heavy recent rain, so it may be unfair to criticise the drainage here.
