Grazing horse
Visually peaceful, but quite noisy as the busy A3 dual carriageway is just behind the trees.

Ways at Hurtmore, Shackleford
This is taken from outside the Squirrel Inn. On the right is the way to the re-aligned road from the A3 to the hamlet of Hurtmore. The road sign (low bridge) is at the end of the bridleway down to Hurtmore Bottom (see other photo). Then leftwards there is a gate at the end of the drive, which was the original road up to Hurtmore. This was in a cutting, and the footway is a separate footpath, to the left of it, which gives access to a row of semi-detached houses.

Stone-built cottages at Hurtmore
In Hurtmore Road, near the junction with Quarry Road. Known as Northside Cottages, and built of what looks like Bargate stone - perhaps quarried nearby.
