Decaying remains of an old railway signal
On the Downs Link path at Cranleigh, this reinforced concrete post with 'Lower Quadrant' arm was much favoured by Southern Railway and may date back to the days of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. Time and weather has exposed the reinforcing bars which normally would not be seen. My thanks go to John Webb for the additional information.
