Green Lung in Merrow Park
This grassy stretch remains more or less untouched by the suburban sprawl of the 1980s Merrow Park housing estate which has surrounded it. On a frosty morning, trees, bushes and grass remain relatively unvisited.

Poppies at the Victory Oak, Merrow
The plaque lay hidden in undergrowth until rediscovery about 1995. It reads "The Victory Oak. Planted in November 1919 to mark the end of The Great War in which 40 young men from Merrow gave their lives".
