Snowfields near Golden Pot
Taken at about 9.45 am on an enforced foot-commute to work: the car was snowed in at home. The snow here was approaching a foot (30cm) deep, and no one else was mad enough to walk this way, so it was an exhausting business trudging through virgin snow. The views were compensation enough.

Snowfields looking towards Golden Pot
Beneath the dark grey of the snow (a result of photographing into the sun) lies an undulating field. Geograph or supplemental? Without the snow, there would be no doubt; with it, it's a moot point...

Hedgerow trees near Closedown Wood - by night
Taken at about 7.15pm after a hard day's work in the office. With roads all but impassable to those preferring not to drive four-by-fours, the only way to get the five miles from home in Upton Grey to work near the Golden Pot was to walk. Deep snow made it hard going, but the views were spectacular. This is a rather feeble attempt at revealing the glory of the snow, even at night. The same trees appear here, photographed on the morning walk to work: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1638425 .
