Selborne - A pond at The Wakes
Gilbert White the naturalist lived at The Wakes in Selborne where this pond is to be found in the gardens. The pondlife found here was described by White in his famous book (see shared description below).
Quite a bit of pondlife such as newts and numerous aquatic insects were in evidence here when we visited.
