There are few signs indicating the route of St Swithun's Way in Alton. This small green sign is one of the first seen on the outskirts of Alton.

No 76017 running round at Alton
One of the terminal stations of the Mid-Hants Railway. No. 76017 is a British Railways standard class 4 2-6-0 tender engine that was built at Horwich in 1953. It is privately owned but based on the Mid Hants Railway. A total of 999 of the various BR standard classes were built up to 1960. To the right of the locomotive is a Rapier steam breakdown crane.
