Appearances Can Be Deceptive
View of Fairlands Avenue above a Fairlands Road sign. The two roads in this residential outlier of Guildford cross each other at roughly right angles. The Avenue leads to the shops at the heart of the suburb of Fairlands; the Road is a service road, parallel to the main road, Aldershot Road.

Fairlands, Parish of Worplesdon
The village sign sits in a large grassy roundabout in the centre of residential Fairlands. Fairlands is obviously proud of its parentage but it is really more of an outlying suburb of Guildford.
