The Final day for Woolies
I suspect there will be many similar pictures posted around the county this week. Today is the final day of trading for Woolworths in Petersfield, a sad day for many. I can't see this shop being occupied for some time, but who knows what the next picture of this site will show.
Now a poundland :-

Traffic warden with a story
Many will tell you "Romance is dead". Not so. A visitor to the town fell hopelessly in love with Doris the Traffic Warden, seen here doing what she does best. Instead, however, of skidallaling away as fast as he could, he kept coming back to the town time after time; and deliberately parking where she would find him, and thus have to have a few words. Result? They are now happily married.

A big shop?
Taken in the High Street. When I was a boy this was the biggest shop in Petersfield. How times change?
