Here the footpath heads towards the Petersfield bypass (A3). Until a few years ago walkers just used the track, but now they must walk to the left of the fence, along the hedge.

Boggy Field at Buckmore
Until a few years ago, cattle grazed here, but no longer. This field has a lovely natural character, being very boggy along its southern edge and being bordered by massive, and in places, vague hedge lines full of large trees and undergrowth. The adjacent fields are about to be developed and I believe that this field may be too, which is a great shame. Watership Down springs to mind, as there were always lots of rabbits living beneath the undergrowth on the western boundary. That's progress for you!
