This one's certainly bedded in
As a child in Madeline Road https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/698244 we had elderly neighbours on both sides. In the late sixties some retirement bungalows were built between Readon Close and Ramshill https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/697165 One day we crossed the A3 (which in those days thundered through the centre of Petersfield) to visit our friends. This post box was being installed that day. It is now well and truly part of the area!
