The Almshouse or Somerset Hospital
Founded in 1746 by Charles Duke of Somerset, initially for twelve poor widows. Egremont Almshouses are on the A272 Horsham Road east out of Petworth.

Cowyard Tunnel at Petworth Park
The pedestrian only tunnel connects the park to the A272 and is cut under the eastern side of the park where visitors to the house walk from the car park.

Petworth House, pleasure gardens
The area known as the pleasure gardens with the path from the car parks to the house. This area is notable for the ornamental trees.

Petworth House Fire Station
This building was originally a dairy and is built over a very large ice house. It was later converted to house a portable fire engine and the two central columns were 'necked' to give clearance for this. It now houses a stationary steam fire pump from elsewhere on the estate. This is a rare beast but sadly not on display. I do have slides of this and one day will scan them.
