Woking Park Fuel Cell
This is the UK’s first fuel cell combined heat and power (CHP) system at Woking’s Pool in the Park. A fuel cell is similar to a battery except that fuel is fed into the cell to generate electricity and heat by an electro-chemical process producing pure water as its output emission. Fuel cell technology generates 50% more electricity than the conventional equivalent without burning any fuel. The fuel cell supports the Pool in the Park’s heating and power systems and Woking Park’s lighting.

Kingfield Pond, Kingfield, Woking
Kingfield Pond, situated just next to the green, adds a tranquil note to this otherwise busy suburban area of Woking. There may well have been another pond on part of the green, judging by the perpetual wet conditions experienced there.

Bus shelters on Kingfield Green, Woking
Sadly the former wooden bus shelters were removede some years ago and replaced by modern glass versions. Equally sadly, these new ones tend to suffer the attentions of vandals from time to time.
