Quite an old elephant now
The famous local landmark beside the A30 is coming up for 60 years old at the time of this picture. "The Concrete Elephant was created by Barbara Jones for Trollope & Colls (reinforced concrete manufacturers) for the 1963 Lord Mayors Show. This was an impressive and creative showcase for the company's engineering skills." - Surrey Heath Borough Council.
