Replica of Samuel Franklin Cody's first powered plane
Replica at the FAST Museum of Cody Flyer (BAA No. 1A) which made the first powered heavier-than-air flight in UK on Farnborough Common on 16th October 1908. Cody designed and flew it 1390 feet in 27 seconds, crash-landed and climbed out of the wreckage. He recycled many of its parts to make further aeroplanes.
