The River Wey cuts a gap through the North Downs here. This looks across the Wey valley to the other side of the gap. Guildford is a classic gap town.

Quarry Gate
A large house overlooking the River Wey. Above it on the skyline is Benchway a 1910 built grade II listed house by M H Baillie-Scott - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1029339. The Harry Stevens operates boat trips on the Wey. It is named after the last private owner of the Wey Navigation, who passed it to the National Trust in 1964.
