Rogues
Rogues may now be a "trendy wine bar" but, till recently, it was the Sanford Arms. The pub was built in 1867 for the Kingston-upon-Thames brewer, W.F Hodgson and took its name from the Sanford family who were relatives of the Hodgsons. Rogues is on the corner of Epsom Road and Harvey Road, Guildford.

Rogues Bar, 58 Epsom Road
The business has been trading as Rogues Bar at this address for about six years. Previously the building was a long established pub known as the Sanford Arms. It has been said that at one time it was a coaching inn, but externally there doesn't seem to be any sign of that. Today Rogues Bar has an over-25's only policy, often has live music, and has a large beer garden.

Edward VII postbox, Sydney Road
This postbox is at the Epsom Road (A25) end of Sydney Road. King Edward VII only reigned for just over 9 years (1901 - 1910), so there are not many around dating from his reign. Another unusual thing about it, is that the crown and the Royal cipher have been highlighted in a gold colour. There are a number of postboxes in Guildford which have had the same treatment. Because the box has been repainted so many times over the years, it is difficult to read the name of the manufacturer, which is shown on the black base. It is thought to be McDowell Steven & Co. Ltd. London & Glasgow. Image Image
