The Old Post Office, Merrow
At the corner of Down and Epsom Roads, and now occupied by the "DIY Law Book Shop". The nearest Post Office was about 1 mile east, in the newsagent by Merrow Church and both were closed there in 2023. Note the building in the background with its traditional Surrey diamond-patterned brickwork.

Your Law: DIY Law Book Shop, 130 Epsom Road, Merrow, Guildford
This building on the corner of Epsom Road, and Down Road, used to be the local post office. Today it houses a rather unusual shop which appears to sell do-it-yourself legal books. When it comes to legal matters and doing it yourself, the best advice is don't, especially when it comes to wills and contracts. But then I'm prejudiced, my early career (long ago) was in a law office, where the disastrous results of people who'd done-it-themselves and made a great mess of it, were often to be seen. Fortunately if you do get into trouble, there is a solicitor's office just round the corner in Down Road!
Guildford is associated with the law in another way, because it is home to the well-known Guildford College of Law. One of the few lawyer training colleges in the country.
