Stop gate on the Blackwater Aqueduct
The gate can be raised to stop the canal and is paired with another at the opposite end of the aqueduct. Slots for stop planks have also been provided. The water level is currently very low.

Aqueduct carrying the Basingstoke Canal over the Blackwater River
The graffiti is in Aldershot, Hampshire and the Blackwater Valley path in Ash, Surrey. The river looks rather insignificant at this point. Most of the aqueduct is over the A331 dual carriageway, to the right out of shot.
