An Aldershot & District Bus at the Aldershot Bus Depot
Taken in June 1981, this photo shows an Alder Valley bus 611 (GGM 81W) painted in the livery of the Aldershot & District Traction Co Ltd with the wording "75 Years of service" painted on the nearside between the upper and lower decks. That bus operator began services in May 1906, but was merged with the Thames Valley Traction Co Ltd on the 1st January 1972 to form Alder Valley. The bus, new in 1980, is a Bristol VRT/SL powered with a Gardner 6LXB engine and has Eastern Coachworks 74-seater bodywork. It is pictured on an Open Day at the Alder Valley bus depot in Halimote Road. This depot closed in the early 1990s and housing now occupies the site.

Two Buses at the former Aldershot Bus Depot
Taken in June 1981, this photo shows two vehicles that were formerly operated by the Aldershot & District Traction Co Ltd. They are 543 (MOR 581) a 1954 AEC Reliance with Weymann 40-seater bodywork dating from 1965/6, and 357 (SOU 465) a 1958 Dennis Loline I with East Lancs 68-seater bodywork. Both preserved vehicles were on display at an Open Day to mark the 75th Anniversary of the formation of the original Aldershot & Farnborough Omnibus Company.
