Stone Houses at Willesley
The hamlet of Willesley is a small cluster of Cotswold stone houses close to the A433. This house is very close to the western edge of the grid square.

An unusual stile
Stile leading to a footpath alongside Willesly Hall. It comprises a single large stone sill and is accessed from the road side by two short flights of stone steps. There are, unfortunately, no corresponding steps on the field side making it very difficult to climb from that side.

Willesly House
'Willesly House' is so spelt on the OS Explorer map (sheet 168), though the village is 'Willesley' with a second 'e'. I don't know whether (a) this is a (trivial) OS error, or (b) it reflects an (understandable) reluctance on the part of the owners of the house to spend money re-engraving a stone with a new name following some bureaucratic decision to change the spelling of the name of the village. Of course there may be reasons (c), (d) and (e) which have not yet occurred to me!
