No.55, with gables, late 17th century; No.53 beyond is slightly later, c.1700, both are Listed Grade II. Other than modern shop fronts, Long Street still preserves the atmosphere of a pre-20th century market town

The plaque can be found on Long Street although the building is now a local G.P's surgery the carved name Sir William Romney's School can be found above the front door.
