The tablet on the terrace of red brick houses is dated 1894. Here in Lechlade on the southern fringe of the Cotswolds, the majority of the period buildings are built or faced with Cotswold stone, but a few, mostly Victorian as here, are of brick construction.

Suburban housing on the north side of Lechlade. A point in time detail is the Ukrainian flag flying outside one of the houses. This is a flag now being seen in increasing numbers all over the country as people express support for that unfortunate nation in the face of Russian war crimes.
