The tomb of Sir john Fortescue c1394 - c1479. The tomb is subsiding and is in need of restoration and he is known, therefore, as the "sinking" chancellor of England.

St Eadburga's church, Ebrington: Fortescue monument
The recumbent painted stone effigy of Sir John Fortescue (†1476) on a tomb-chest appears rather larger than life. The former Lord Chief Justice to Henry VI is depicted wearing his legal robes, his head resting on a pillow supported by angels.
