The Bell at Stow (2) - sign, Park Street, Stow-on-the-Wold, Glos
The Bell is a common name for public houses and inns as a long time ago they were often connected with a nearby church. Also the sign, which in days gone by would have an illustration of a bell, would be easily recognised by people who could not read or write.
