Lightpill Mill
A large complex now better known as the Bath Road industrial Estate. This former textile (woollen) mill is at its heart and fortunately it is possible to get a reasonable view. The mill is Listed Grade II. This view shows the Nailsworth Stream passing under the mill building. This is indicative of previous water power, while the lovely stone chimney indicates later steam power. In the Stroud valleys steam was often subsidiary to water power and the latter remained important into the twentieth century.
