Cheltenham houses [65]
Number 44 Cudnall Street is a substantial detached property, now flats.
Cheltenham is located at the foot of the Cotswold scarp with the small River Chelt flowing through the town. After the discovery of mineral springs in 1716 Cheltenham became a spa town and many Regency houses and other buildings were erected. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, four days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at the nearby racecourse.

Elborough Cottage is a 15th century cruck-framed house, a 16th century projecting gabled bay at front and a 17th century timber-framed wing to rear. The house originally had a central hall open to the roof, the fireplace was installed in the 16th century when an upper floor was added. The projecting gabled bay at front lit by large oriel windows created a parlour in the late 16th century. The rear wing was originally a malthouse. The house was largely unaltered until the Regency period when a new staircase was inserted and rear extensions added.
