Prestbury is famous for being one of the most haunted villages in England. The Sundial Cottage in The Burgage is haunted by a girl playing a spinet. At the end of the 19th century the figure of the girl was seen on several occasions, and her music was heard during the second world war, when a London family took refuge there from the blitz.

Sundial Cottage, number 37 The Burgage, is dated 1579 but was mostly rebuilt in the late 18th or early 19th century. Originally constructed in coursed, squared limestone, the rebuilding in brick, under a concrete tile roof. There is a sundial on the right gable end. Prestbury House is a large, detached house in The Burgage. Built circa 1700 and altered and extended in the mid 19th century. Constructed of coursed, squared and dressed limestone now pebble-dashed with exposed quoins, all under a slate roof. Some original internal features remain. The building was the Prestbury House Hotel until it closed in 2010. Constructed of brick with a concrete tile roof to the main block, a slate roof to the extensions. Prestbury is a real treasure trove of superb shops and houses. A pity about the cars though!

The former stable block, later the coach house, to Prestbury House has been converted into residential accommodation.
